Abundance of Wildlife

The Wildlife on the Nkonjeni Ranch is abundant. The hilly countryside offers the perfect habitat for many species. The occasional hyena is known to cruise through the farm which is also home to some of South Africa’s most graceful and magnificent animals including Zebra, Giraffe, Kudu, Impala, Njala, Wildebeest, as well as serval, caracal, grey, red and blue duiker and hartebeest. There are a variety of cats which include the elusive Leopard which often uses Nkonjeni as their personal breeding ground. The majestic Mkuzi River flows through the property and offers the occasional sighting of crocodiles and other water loving creatures. No matter which package you book, you can always book optional extras like Game drives or Bush Walks at the Nkonjeni Ranch or even a half day trip to either Ithala Game Reserve to view larger game such as Elephants and Rhino.

Exclusive Use of Ranch

If you book with us, the whole Game Farm is yours during your stay. You decide which Package you want to choose and even within the packages, we offer a lot of flexibility. There is no sharing of facilities. You will not see any other people (except Staff) on the Game drives or bush walks. You don’t need to be regulated by strict time or other schedules. This experience is uniquely designed for family bonding or team building activities.

Tranquility & Relaxation

The peace and quiet of the land and its wildlife is infectious. The only sounds you will hear are of the bush and outside at night the only lights visible will be those of the stars and the moon. Even though you’re right in the bush, you still have all the necessary comfort to feel safe and content. The pool and entertainment area offers the possibility to cool down, to chill and relax in the deck-chairs, to sun tan or just enjoy the cool shade and indulge in a refreshing drink from the pool bar. There is a beautiful and quiet area behind the house, where one can enjoy an unobstructed view of the watering hole where many of the local wildlife gather during the morning hours. In the house you have air conditioned comfort and powerful flowing hot and cold water in every single room. There is MTN Signal in case of emergency or in case you want to stay connected to the outer world.

Bar & Restaurant

At Nkonjeni Game Ranch you can either choose to go with 100% self-catering or you choose to book catered holidays. With both packages you’re free to use the kitchen whenever you want. The dining-room with a big table for family-/group meals as well as the outdoor dining area under the South African Boma is also at our guest’s disposal. Furthermore there are in-room minibars and a Pool Bar that offer beverages at bar prices. If you go with the catered package you will get three South African farm style meals per day and additionally Teas, coffees and drinking Water.
